ALPHA
Ministry |
| |
If you have questions and/or
doubts about the Christian faith, ALPHA is the course for you. This is NOT
a lecture series but an opportunity to raise questions and express feelings
about faith, Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit. Each of the ten
sessions includes fellowship, a brief presentation and plenty of discussion.
This is an opportunity to learn about Christianity if it is unfamiliar to
you. No one is asked to make a long-term commitment to the program. We
invite you to “try it out” and then decide if you want to return the next
week. There is no cost involved. Call now for information about the
schedule for future ALPHA courses.

SHAPE 1
Class |
| |
Sponsored by the Christian
Education Ministry, this series of five 2-hour classes is offered every
second or third year. After an initial class for parents only, children
ages 9-12 join with their parents to study puberty, anatomy, conception,
birth and resisting sexual pressures. The goals are to foster communication
between pre-teen and parent, to create an opportunity to pass along family
and church values about sexuality, and to ensure that children receive the
accurate facts about this subject. Classes for boys and girls are held
separately.

Worship &
Music Ministry |
| |
This ministry plans worship service events based
on the church calendar. While we are not all musicians or specialist in
music and/or church rites, we do share a common commitment to making each
worship service at Resurrection a meaningful, Christ-centered experience for
members and visitors alike.
The Altar Guild and Wedding Coordination are part of our Worship & Music
Ministry to ensure spirituality at all functions. If you would like to be
part of a team working with our pastors to share the Good News of Christ
through our variety of worship services, we welcome your participation. We
meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm.

Choir |

The Chancel choir assists pastors in the leading
of the Sunday service by contributing special music to enhance the worship
experience. The choir participates in the 8:30 am service and sings on special

great people and develop lifelong friendships. The choir is open to
anyone 14 or older. Rehearsal is from 7:30 to around 9:00 pm every Thursday
evening. Your vocal ability is not judged, auditions are not required,
and if Thursday rehearsals are difficult for you, we'll try to work out an
agreement where you can participate in the choir for Sunday service. All are
welcome. Please join us!

This is a group that strongly experiences the

gather prayer requests from the Prayer Chain and Sunday attendance cards.
We pray for our government leaders, for other nations in their needs. We
pray for those areas experience disasters, etc. Join us for a very

Crown
Ministry Class |
| |
Why should you go to a Bible-based financial
study? Comments to former students suggest some of the benefits gained
through Crown Ministry class: “a closer relationship with Christ”, “a
strengthened marriage” and “a more disciplined, less consumptive lifestyle.”
The Bible contains 2,350 verses to guide us in managing our finances more
purposefully and over half of all divorces are due to financial pressure in
the home. Clearly, money plays an important part in our lives, so come to a
Crown Ministry course to learn more about how you can address that important
issue. Call for future schedule information.

Sunday
School |

Sunday School is provided every Sunday of the
school year for children, pre-school (3-5 yrs) through Junior High. All
children from the surrounding community are welcome.
Junior High students meet in Bercaw Hall from 9:30 to 10:00 am. Fifth and
sixth graders meet in their classroom at 10:00 am. Children 3 yrs old to

service. Following the Kids Talk, they go to their various Sunday School
rooms.
Staff consists of teachers for these grade levels, plus an attendance
person, substitutes, musicians and helpers. Together we work to provide a
happy, safe, reaffirming atmosphere for the children to learn about God’s
love.
Planning meetings are held a few times during the year. Most classes have

Paper
Rollers |
| |
The Paper Rollers are a special group of people
who meet every Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 am in Bercaw Hall. We range in
age from the 60s through the 80s, so we have a lot of experience!! We
separate advertisements, magazines, single sheets, etc. from the newspapers
donated by our members and roll and sell the full sheets. The money
received is invested in the needs of our church (i.e. for campus renovation
work). The benefits to the group are fantastic: homemade goodies and
coffee at 10:00 am every Thursday, plus going out to lunch once a month (dutch).
Come, join and enjoy great fellowship with other LCR members.
